WORK GROUPS
Underserved Populations Work Group:
The goal of the Underserved Populations Work Group is to identify and build relationships with community members who lack access to basic resources and increase the number of people in that defined underserved population participating in various food access programs.
Marketing and Communication Work Group:
The goal of the Marketing and Communication work group is to share and facilitate information among the BCFC council members and inform the residents of Broome County about the ongoing work of the Council and its Work Groups.
Advocacy and Public Policy Work Group:
The goal of the Advocacy and Public Policy Work Group is to support members of the BCFC and beyond to advocate for evidence-based policies to reduce food insecurity and promote health. To accomplish this goal, we will work within the council to educate and advance policy priorities on the local, state, and federal levels.
Families with Young Children Work Group:
The goal of the Families with Young Children Work Group is to identify the location of families with young children in the county and to determine if they are being provided the healthy food resources needed to sustain their families. We will accomplish this goal by building relationships with families with young children and ensuring that they have continued access to healthy food resources.
